Prof. Layla Al Obaidi

Tunisia

Born in Tunisia 1975, Prof. Al Obaidi earned a professorship in Arabic language and literature from Tunisia, and a research certification from the College of Literature in Manouba. Prof. Al Obaidi is credited with several articles on women’s rights in Islam, mysticism, poverty, and globalisation. She has participated in a number of national and international forums and is currently working as a professor of ancient civilization (Higher Institute for the Humanities) in Tunisia’s Al-Manar University.

About The Book

With this selection, the Award’s Scientific Committee recognised the author’s scientific analytical approach in researching the humour in Arab Islamic heritage, with an in-depth examination of scripts and events. The book is also seen as a promotion of the true values of Islam which is founded on peaceful coexistence and steers clear from hatred and prejudice. The book’s six chapters reveal a thorough analysis and methodological citation of scripts with attention to a variety of sources.
