Encourage children and adolescent’s literature, which seeks to develop this important segment of society, and their aesthetic taste, and constructs their cultural identity on the foundation of creative interaction between the past and present.

 

Nomination Process

  1. Nominate your book by registering online via register.zayedaward.ae.
  2. Send 5 copies of your book to Sheikh Zayed Book Award headquarters:
    • Sheikh Zayed Book Award.
    • Department of Culture & Tourism - Abu Dhabi.
    • P.O. Box 2380 Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  3. An email will be sent confirming a successful online nomination once 5 copies of the book are received by the Award.

In 2013, supported by a grant from NYUAD & in collaboration with NYU Press, Prof. Philip Kennedy helped to create the Library of Arabic Literature - a series of modern English-language translations of Arabic texts. According to Prof. Kennedy: “The Library encourages scholars to produce authoritative Arabic editions, accompanied by modern, lucid English translations, with the ultimate goal of introducing Arabic’s rich literary heritage to a wider public.”
