2020 Online Award Ceremony

Location: YouTube Livestream
Date: Thursday 16 April 2020

The 14th edition of the award acknowledges some of the most challenging and exciting work about the Arab world, reflecting the scope and depth of Arab cultural achievement both in Arabic and other languages.

In lieu of the usual ceremony on 16 April, held last year in the splendour of the Louvre Abu Dhabi during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, a livestream presentation announced this year’s international recipients to the world, introduced by HE Dr Ali Bin Tamim, Secretary General of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

Recipients from six different countries (UK, US, The Netherlands, Iraq, Tunisia and Palestine) were awarded the Sheikh Zayed Book Awards across seven categories, highlighting the global imprint and influence of Arabic writing and culture.
