Mouza Al Shamsi appointed new Director of Sheikh Zayed Book Award

Abu Dhabi, September 14, 2017 – The Sheikh Zayed Book Award has announced the appointment of Mouza Al Shamsi as Director of the Award, effective July 2017. In her new role, Al Shamsi will be responsible for devising the key strategies for the Award to maintain and support its growth, in line with the main objectives set for the Award and the larger context of Abu Dhabi’s Cultural plans. Al Shamsi will also be supporting the Award’s team on the overall management of the Award’s yearly cycles, in addition to the keynote cultural and literary events which help promote the Award’s name and foster Arabic culture at local, regional and international levels. Speaking of the appointment, Al Shamsi, commented: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Award’s Board of Trustees for entrusting me with this responsibility, and I look forward to drive forward the successes of Sheikh Zayed Book Award, alongside Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, the Award’s Secretary General.” With more than 10 years of experience in Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture, Al Shamsi is considered one of the pioneering female executives in Abu Dhabi’s public sector, especially in the field of executive management of governmental marketing and communication efforts.
