The Sheikh Zayed Book Award held its first collaboration with the University of Mainz in Germany alongside the award's partner, Cultural Association Litprom, to organise the event “Can literary translation be taught and learned? – Voices from university didactics and professional practice”, to highlight the literary translation through a conversation with Mustafa Sulaiman, SZBA Scientific Committee member, Suleiman Taufiq, Arabic-German translator, Dr. Renata Makraska, Professor of Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the University of Mainz, Germersheim. The session was moderated by Dr. Mahmoud Hassanein, Translator and Assistant Professor at the University of Mainz, Germersheim.
